
Bangalore Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said told media that the 2008 blasts case has been solved and all key accused have been arrested. He further stated that four other key accused were killed in encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.
Elaborating on those behind the blasts the police said that no militant group had claimed responsibility for the attack and it was the handiwork of misguided youths. The police further said that police forces of Gujarat, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh had also helped in solving the case.
All the nine arrested are from Kerala. Among these is key accused Abdul Sattar, who was arrested on January 20.
On July 25, 2008, eight serial blasts had rocked the country’s IT city killing two and injuring several others.
Crude bombs concealed near refugee camps, a drain and a bus shelter stuffed with nuts and bolts, exploded between 1.30 pm and 1.45 pm at Adugodi, Madivala, Nayandahalli, Mysore Road, Richmond Circle, Pantharapalya and Vittal Mallya Road. One explosion occured later in the evening.
